Description

Traditional solar panels are rigid and often enclosed in tempered glass. The Renogy 100W Flexible Solar Panel is anything but traditional. Perfect for marine use or placement on top of a van or vehicle, the Renogy 100W Lightweight Solar Panel is thin and capable of flexing up to 248 degrees.

At 4 pounds, this flexible solar panel weighs only a quarter of its traditional 100W counterpart. Highly flexible, this lightweight panel can easily be installed on curved surfaces. This panel can also be used for other various applications, including providing power on a boat or teardrop trailer.

Mounting Recommendation: Modules may be mounted using silicone structural adhesive on the backside of the panel. For detailed installation methods, please consult a local contractor for guidance.

If you have any questions regarding this product; please submit a case.

Key Features

Extremely Flexible
  • This panel is capable of meeting a wide range of applications where standard panels can be inconvenient to mount, such as on the curved roof of an airstream
Ultra Lightweight
  • Thanks to advanced polymer materials, this product weighs 70% less than conventional solar panels, making transportation and installation a breeze
Super Thin Lamination
  • Hardly noticeable, the Renogy 100W Lightweight Panel laid flat is only a tenth of an inch tall! Approximately 95% thinner than its rigid counterpart, this panel is ideal for a stealthy solar setup
Highly Durable
  • Rigorously tested, the 100W panel was designed to withstand extreme wind of up to 2400 Pa and snow loads of up to 5400 Pa

Certification

1.What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system ?

A solar panel has to be connected a charge controller to regulate current, and a battery to store the electrical power. You will need adapter kit cables to wire the solar panel(s) and charge controller, and tray cables connecting the charge controller to a deep-cycle battery.
2. What does off-grid and on-grid mean ?

On-grid simply means solar power equipment (array or solar panel) is connected to the electrical grid, while off-grid refers to systems that are not connected to the grid and therefore store the generated power for later use. Off-grid systems are not affected by grid blackouts.
3. Why is my solar panel under producing ?

Solar panel performance may be hindered for a number of reasons. Most commonly environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass will cause a reduced power output.
4. How should I connect solar panels in my electrical circuit (series vs parallel)

Solar panels can be connected in series or in parallel to meet your electrical circuit size and power demand. Connecting solar panels in series will have the effect of adding up their operating voltage output, while system current output will be the same as that for one panel. While, connecting solar panels in parallel will have a different effect; individual panels operating current output will add up to be the system output current, while system output voltage will be the same as the output voltage of one solar panel. To meet the optimum power output and system rating for your power system, you can use both parallel and series connections.
5. How many solar panels do I need ?

The best way to gauge how many solar panels you need, is to understand and define the power load needed from this system. Power is measured in Watts, and capacity is commonly measured in Watt-hours (multiplying power output in watts by the required number of hours of operation multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5-2). Therefore, it is wise to size your battery bank first based on the minimum required capacity, and accordingly decide how many panels or how much power input is needed.

    100W Plugged to a 600w bluetti

Posted by Martine on Jun 28th 2024

I bought it to charge my 600W bluetti and works fine but when it's dark outside, I need to unplugged it because it drains 1% of my bluetti per hour! So I'm loosing like 8% in a night! Idk if someone else experienced the sane thing! I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and in the sunny day blue sky, when my panel is in the windsheild of my campervan, I can get around 38w max on my bluetti, and if I put it on my roof l, I get 70w! So the double!

    Flexible 100 watt solar panel

I have not used this solar panel yet but previously purchased the same panel and it has worked very well, always keeping my battery fully charged even in shady conditions. Please do not publish my name.

Great panel. Flexible but stiffer then I expected. Took some tricks to get it to conform to the curved roof of our boler .

    Help

Posted by Daniel Dale on Aug 3rd 2023

The Renogy products are all good. However, your customer support is almost non existent. I have had promises of help, return e-mails and extra discounts and nothing ever happened more than once. On my last order of $1500.00 I was unable to get any help an had to go else where.

100 WATT FLEXIBLE MONO SOLAR PANEL

Posted by Francois I. on Jul 14th 2023

I had worked late to install three of the 100W flexible panels on the RV but failed to screw down the last panel before dark. The next morning we were in a rush to get on the road and the screws were forgotten. Heading down the highway into an 80kph wind, the wind caught that last panel and lifted it free of the roof sealant that was the only thing "holding" it down and threw the Renogy panel onto the fast lane of the highway face up. I circled around to pick it up, but a semi truck had moved towards the fast lane for me since I was parked on the shoulder. However, doing that for my safety, he drove squarely over the solar panel! We grabbed the Renogy panel and the cables of another panel that came with the trailer off of the highway. The "stock" panel had stayed on the roof but the diode junction with the cables ripped off and was rendered useless. At the next camping stop I bought some stainless screws, screwed the run-over Renogy panel back onto the trailer, and hooked it up. Amazingly, it still worked! It's been a year now, and the injured Renogy panel is still on the RV and is still cranking out the power! Flexible and I would add - tough.

    Flexible 100 watt solar panel

Posted by Geoffrey Batchelar on Apr 3rd 2023

I purchased the solar panel to maintain the battery on my boat. It was very easy to instal and connect to the controller. I am very pleased with the quality, fit and finish of the solar panel. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to install a solar panel on a curved surface.

    Review of Solar Panel

Posted by David Brost on Jun 7th 2021

Good quality panel. Have installed numerous panels on vessels. The only issue is that I wish both cables were at least the same length. The short positive cable causes lots of issues trying to parallel panels back to back on smaller Biminis
