Frequently Asked Questions
What size battery cable should I use with the inverter charger, and is it included?
What size battery cable should I use with the inverter charger, and is it included?
The inverter charger does not include battery cables. Please use battery cables of the size specified in the user manual to ensure safe operation and optimal performance.
Is this inverter suitable for overnight caravan use?
Is this inverter suitable for overnight caravan use?
Yes. The low-noise intelligent cooling system is designed for quieter overnight operation in caravans, motorhomes, cabins and other off-grid environments, helping maintain a more comfortable sleeping space while powering essentials such as fridges, fans and CPAP machines.
Will it fit under my caravan seat or side locker?
Will it fit under my caravan seat or side locker?
Yes. With its 113mm slim profile and compact 432.4 × 305 × 113.3mm footprint, this inverter is well suited for installation under seats, inside side lockers and in other space-restricted battery compartments.
Does the UPS function keep Wi-Fi and CPAP devices running during a power cut?
Does the UPS function keep Wi-Fi and CPAP devices running during a power cut?
The built-in UPS function automatically switches from mains power to battery power in less than 20ms, helping keep Wi-Fi routers, CPAP machines, fridges and laptops operating during short power interruptions.
Can I use this inverter with a 24V battery system?
Can I use this inverter with a 24V battery system?
No. This inverter is designed for use with a 12V battery bank only. Connecting it to a 24V battery system may damage the inverter and will void the warranty. If you have a 24V system, please choose a compatible 24V inverter.
Will this inverter work with lithium batteries?
Will this inverter work with lithium batteries?
Yes. The inverter charger is compatible with 12V lithium batteries, including LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), as well as SLD/AGM (Sealed Lead Acid), Gel, FLD (Flooded), and User-Defined battery types, provided the battery bank matches the inverter's 12V DC input requirement. After installation, select the correct battery type using the buttons on the LCD display or through the Renogy app to ensure optimal charging performance.
Do I need external CT sensors to use the Renogy Off-Grid Energy System?
Do I need external CT sensors to use the Renogy Off-Grid Energy System?
No. External CT sensors are not required for standard Off-Grid operation or home backup applications, even when
the inverter is connected to utility power through its AC input.
CT sensors may be needed for certain advanced system
configurations, such as AC coupling. Please consult the Renogy technical support team before setting up these applications.
*Note: CT sensors are not included with the system and must be purchased separately if required.
Are all the cables needed for installation included?
Are all the cables needed for installation included?
No. AC input/output cables, PV cables, and inverter parallel communication cables are not included and must be purchased separately.
Please refer to the user manual for wiring specifications and installation requirements.
