Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery 12 Volt 50 Ah FAQ

What is the cycle life of this battery?

(0.5C,25℃): 80%DOD 2000 Cycles
What is the grade and type of cell inside this battery?

The internal cells of this battery are cylindrical pack cells, which is class A cell.
To ensure the battery cycle life, what is the recommended depth of discharge (DOD)not to exceed?

Do not exceed 80%
What is the installation requirements for the battery?

  • The battery installation environment is clean, cool, and well-ventilated. Keep the battery away from oil and dirt.
  • Safe operation requires environment temperatures between-4℉-140℉(-20℃-60℃). The recommended operating environment temperature range is 59°F (15°C) and 86°F (30°C).
  • At the same time, place the battery upright or horizontally on the long side, not stacked or upside down.
Can I connect the batteries in series or in parallel?

The battery can only be connected in parallel, the recommended maximum number of parallel connections is 8.
What is the recommended maximum charge/discharge current for multiple batteries connected in parallel?

The maximum continuous charge and discharge current of this battery is 50A. In order to balance the charge and discharge of parallel batteries, it is recommended that the maximum continuous charge and discharge current of parallel batteries should not exceed the maximum continuous charge and discharge current value of a single battery.
What is the IP protection rating of the battery?

IP65
How are the cells connected inside the battery?

The internal cell configuration of the battery is 4S15P.
Can I use this battery with other brands of batteries in parallel?

No. The batteries connected in parallel that need to be the same brand, same type, same voltage and same capacity.
When the batteries are connected in parallel, those principles need to be followed to make the parallel battery charge and discharge balanced?

  • The initial state of the parallel battery should be the same, if the parallel battery is the same type, the same brand, the same voltage, the same capacity, it is generally recommended to fully charge the battery alone, the battery rests for half an hour, the open circuit voltage between the batteries is less than 0.1V before using in parallel.
  • The maximum number of parallel-connected batteries should not exceed 8.
  • The time interval between the old and new batteries in parallel should not exceed six months.
  • It is recommended that the wiring of parallel batteries be wired according to the following wiring diagram, and make sure that the wiring cable specifications and length between parallel batteries are the same, and that the wiring connections are tightened.

What is the self-discharge rate of this battery?

The nominal self-discharge current of the battery is 80μA, and the maximum self-discharge current is 120μA.
What kind of charger should I choose to charge this battery?

You should choose the following chargers:
  • Match 12V LFP battery
  • Match charger charging parameters with battery charging parameters
  • Charge current is less than the maximum continuous charging current of 50A for the battery
  • With reverse polarity, overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection functions
What is the energy rating, specific energy and energy density of the battery?

The battery performance data is as follows: energy rating: 640Wh; Specific Energy: 95.5Wh/kg, Energy density: 114.4Wh/L.
I accidentally over-discharged the battery, resulting in the battery under-voltage protection, what kind of charger should I use to charge the battery?

  • Remove all the wires from the battery.
  • Use a charger that matches the battery and has a lithium-ion activation function to activate and charge the battery at an ambient temperature of 41°F or higher (below 131°F), and when the voltage at the battery terminal is restored to 12.4V or higher, the battery can be charged normally
How do I store the battery?

Please follow the tips below to ensure that the battery emerges from storage in a good condition:
  • Charge the battery to 30%-50%.
  • Disconnect the battery from the system.
  • Store the battery in a well-ventilated, dry, clean area with temperatures between 32-77℉(0-25℃) (within one year)/23-95℉(-5-35℃) (within 3 months).
  • Handle the battery carefully to avoid sharp impacts or extreme pressure on the battery housing.
  • Charge the battery at least once every 3 months to prevent it from overdischarge.
  • Fully charge the battery when it is taken out of storage;
