Certification

1.Which kind of extension cord I should purchase with this panel for more mobility from my RV?

The Renogy Solar Panel Extension Cable will be able to make more space between your solar panels and the charge controller. There is multiple size choice, please choose the same size of cable for extension. And please also realize that the longer the extension, the greater the line loss. A bigger gauge will be required for longer runs.
2. Can I  add more solar panels with the suitcase to expand my system?

This solar suitcase is designed for expansion, additional panels are added to the system available based on your needs and space. We suggest you add the same solar suitcase for expansion. The 20A charge controller included in the kit can accept expanding one additional 100W suitcase.
3. Are these monocrystallin or polycrystallin panels?

The Eclipse suitcase with 2 pcs 50W solar panels use Sunpower Solar Cells, which have a higher efficiency than regular monocrystalline solar cells. The Sunpower Solar Cells with a 22.2% to 24% efficiency range. By comparison, regular Monocrystalline panels efficiency around 21%, and Polycrystalline panels around 18.7%.
4.Is the Eclipse solar panel better than normal monocrystalline panels? What's the difference between them?

The Eclipse uses Sunpower Soalr Cells which has a higher efficiency rate than the normal Monocrystalline. The Eclipse panel includes a tempered glass layer that contributes to the added durability and long-lasting quality of the panel. The Eclipse panel is small in height and size, which makes it more flexible, enabling it to store and install in where space is at a premium, such as in an RV.
5. What type of batteries can be used with the kit?

Battery type compatibility depends on the charge controller specified compatible battery type. This solar kit comes with a Renogy Voyager 20A  PWM waterproof charge controller. It supports Gel, AGM, Flooded, and Lithium batteries.  Still, please set the correct battery type once it is installed and if a Lithium battery is connected, please manually set the system voltage due to the corresponding battery voltage. It also comes with a Lithium activation feature.
6. How much power this solar kit can provide me?

The power produced by solar panels will depend on how much sunlight can get. The ideal output for this kit will be 500Wh every day(Calculated based on 100Wx5h expected sunlight availability).
7. Can I use this suitcase to charging my 120v receptacles directly?

The suitcase is not able to charging 120V power  receptacles directly. Plus a 12v battery and inverter would give 120v output you would want. The panel would recharge the battery, the battery will storage the power, and the inverter would be able to supply the 120v power that you need.
8. Why is my solar panel underproducing?

Solar panel performance may be hindered for a number of reasons. Most commonly environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass will cause a reduced power output. This is a portable suitcase, you may try to move it in place or adjust the kickstands angels to get better sunshine.  The ideal output of it will be around 500 Watt-hours per day (Calculated based on 100Wx5h expected sunlight availability).

    100 watt Eclipse Mono Suitcase

Posted by Gerry Harris on Sep 13th 2022

We purchased this unit for two reasons. One: the research we did found this unit to be an excellent product, well made and portable. Second: Price it was on sale and was a good value. So, Off to Burningman in the Nevada desert. The temps were in the 100's for most of the 13 days we were there, once I figured out the right battery selection the unit did its thing beautifully. The temp probe did not arrive in time, so we made due. Despite windy, dusty conditions the panel provided power to keep the battery charged while the fridge fans (2-12 volt )cooling fans worked all day and into the early night. I was concerned that the high temps may affect the performance but found it continued to provide the power required. This was our first time into solar and so far has been a great success, we will have chances to use the panels later in the fall and check how it performs. I can recommend this product based on construction, price and support equipment additions. Carrying case is strong and easy to clean (huge bonus if you have ever tried to clean playa dust off anything!) Do yourself a favour and go get one of their products, they will last after the inexpensive one have quit. If I am wrong please let me and Renogy know. Cheers. Gerry H

100 Watt Eclipse Monocrystalline Solar Suitcase

Posted by Dale on Apr 20th 2022

I checked the voltage and amp outputs and they do match the specifications. Product works well. I like the case it comes with. My only complaint is that it should come with a longer cord made of 12 gauge wires instead of 14.

    Practical and Well-made

Posted by David on Oct 23rd 2021

It worked great. The only thing I would change is the cable. End it with MC4 connectors, and have the alligator clips incl’d as an accessory. This allows for systems that already have the MC4 or SAE connectors hardwired/mounted into their setups.

Very good quality product!! Feels very strong!! Enjoyed it one wkd so far for camping & charged battery at home!! Wish it come with longer cables in the kit & with a 7 prong adapter vs aligator clips but a very small issue. I am so glad that I found Renogy vs GO Power that I was looking at, SAVED A BUNDLE!!
